Handley Page Victor K.2/SR.2 – 1:72 Scale Model Kit
The Handley Page Victor was a jet-powered strategic bomber that, alongside the other “V” bombers Avro Vulcan and Vickers Valiant, formed a key part of Britain’s nuclear deterrent during the Cold War. Originally designed for long-range, low-altitude attacks, the Victor was later used primarily as an aerial refuelling tanker.
The B.2 variant, developed in 1959, featured more powerful Rolls Royce Conway engines, improving tactical maneuverability and ceiling. Thirty-four were built, with many later converted for reconnaissance and refuelling roles. The B.2R could carry “Blue Steel” nuclear missiles. After the introduction of Polaris missiles in 1969, the Victor was gradually retired from the nuclear deterrent role.
